Portugal
This article is considered accurate for the current version of the game.
Portugal was a minor power in South-Western Europe with domains in Africa, Asia and Oceania. It played some role in the Nationalists victory at the Spanish Civil War by giving supplies and military access to Franco's forces. Although neutral during World War II they traded and dealt with both sides, specially negotiating tungsten with Nazi Germany in exchange for military equipment. Eventually they aligned much more prominently with the Allies, protecting allied shipment in the Atlantic and even giving American and British forces basing rights in the Azores. The United Kingdom also found Portuguese neutrality decisive for the balance of power in the Iberian Peninsula and by extension North Africa.
