Nationalist Spain is a minor power in South Western Europe. The country came to be in the Spanish Civil War, emerging victorious in a devestating conflict on the eve of the Second World War. Although never directly part of the War or the Axis, Nationalist Spain under dictator Francisco Franco historically sent among other things volunteers to Germany to fight in the German invasion of the Soviet Union.
