M A T R I X quake 2.4 beta 2.4 Features: New Lobby and Dojo maps, Console effects, and bullet-trail wave, all courtesy of Enforcer. Improved menu graphics and the such. Beginnings of a single player menu setup. 2.4 Fixes: Several UI problems have been fixed by simply renaming q3_ui.vm to ui.vm. (this will most likely fix all those nasty loading and graphical errors I've been emailed constantly about). Reloading single and double weapons should be fixed. Teleporters no longer take you to Spectator mode and crash. Ammo pickup for single and double weapons should work properly. Bots no longer run around reloading constantly (!) The Lobby can now be started up from the single player menu. installation: NOTE: this install requires at least 1.29 release of Quake 3 Arena. unzip everything to your quake directory in a subdirectory called matrix (or whatever you want to call it) ex: c:\program files\quake III arena\matrix\[unzip here] To load the mod, click the "Mods" option from the main Quake 3 menu, and select "Matrix" from the list. To bind a key to reload your weapons type the following into the console in Matrix Quake. \bind ? "reload" replacing ? with the key of your choice. For more information on binding and other console commands visit: http://www.quakeworld.com/quake3/q3aguide/console.shtml holding jump down while next to a wall and facing away lets you walk the walls. Letting jump go drops you off. Facing a wall while holding jump will kick you away from the wall, in the exact opposite direction you are facing (if you look 45 degrees down, you will kick up and away from the wall 45 degrees upwards). The "Personal Teleporter" has been replaced by "The Matrix". using it (with the "Use" button for all holdable items) will initiate bullettime, using "The Matrix" in bullettime will come back out of bullettime. Known bugs: Issues regarding going into bullettime while in third person (the graphics don't trigger, so no bullet trails appear, and the animations may be fast). Bots still have issues with switching to better weapons and don't appear to like reloading. unknown bugs: Send me what you got, and if it's easy, I'll fix it. matrix@reinot.com
