How to Install PeZBOT:
======================

[This is pre-alpha code, meaning it is in no way feature complete and may be full of bugs!]
[Check below for instructions on how to install the mod with the Steam version of Call of Duty 4!]

[Most of the people who contact us are not installing the mod correctly. Follow these instructions to the letter!]

How to install on Windows XP, Vista and 7:
------------------------------------------

1) Download and install the Galactic Warfare Mod, version 08b from here: http://www.moddb.com/mods/star-wars-mod-galactic-warfare

2) Once you have downloaded the .zip file, extract it to the desktop temporarily. 

3) Now that you have it extracted, you should have the following files on the desktop: ReadMe folder, z_swm_pezbot.iwi, pezbot.cfg and pezbot_dev.cfg

4) Highlight all files, Right Click, and press "Copy" or "Cut".
 
5) Navigate to this directory (default): "C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\mods\swm_08b" 

7) Right Click, and "Paste" the PeZBOT files we copied earlier from the dekstop.

8) With your desktop shortcut to Call of Duty 4 Multiplayer (Create one if you don't have one) you need to Right Click on it, then click on Properties.

9) You should see: "Target: C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\iw3mp.exe"

10) Add this onto the end of the target line: +set fs_game "mods/swm_08b" +exec pezbot.cfg

11) Your target line should now look something like this: "C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\iw3mp.exe" +set fs_game "mods/swm_08b" +exec pezbot.cfg

12) Check below for how to play!

How to install on Steam version of Call of Duty 4:
--------------------------------------------------

1) Read steps 1, 2, 3 and 4 above.

2) Navigate to this directory (default): "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\call of duty 4\mods\swm_08b" 

3) Right Click, and "Paste" the PeZBOT files we copied earlier from the dekstop.

4) Right-Click on Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in your Games List, and select Properties > Set Launch Options.

4) While in Launch Options, type (or copy and paste) this into the box:
+set fs_game "mods/swm_08b" +exec pezbot.cfg

5) Choose "Ok" then "Close".

6) When launching the game, select to launch it in Multiplayer.

svr_pezbots               // Autoassign # bots (defaults to 0)
svr_pezbots_team          // Team to put bots on, "axis", "allies", "autoassign"; (defaults to "autoassign")
svr_pezbots_skill         // Bot skill level, value from 0.1 to 1 (defaults to 1.0)
svr_pezbots_grenadepickup // Set to 1 and bots will drop grenades/RPGs for the player to pick up and restock their grenade/RPG ammunition (defaults to 0)
svr_pezbots_roundCount    // Restarts the listen server after # amount of maps - workaround for "running out of bots" (defaults to 2)

How to play:
==========================================================

First go to the swm_08b folder and open the "pezbot.cfg" in notepad. Edit the settings to your liking, including the gametype options - it should be quite easy to follow and should only take a minute or two. You can come back and change these whenever you want. 

Next, open the game with the shortcut we created earlier and it should take you to the main menu. Open up the console with the ~ key, and type the following to open any of the supported maps:

Mos Eisley:
/map mp_tatooine

Bestine:
/map mp_bestine

Cloud City:
/map mp_cloud_city

Rebellion (custom map, has to be downloaded from here first: http://www.moddb.com/mods/star-wars-mod-galactic-warfare/addons/rebellion-v1):
/map mp_rebellion

After the map loads the bots should automatically appear, assuming you edited the pezbot.cfg. If not, you can manually add them by opening the console and typing:

/svr_pezbots # (# being the amount of bots you want)

Playing over LAN:
=================

If you are trying to play over LAN with a friend, you may notice that the hosting machines server may not appear in the server list. If not, try the following:

1) Open up normal Call of Duty 4. (Not PeZBOT!)
2) Start a server with the hosting machine.
3) Search for the server with the client.
4) When you see the server, click on it once and add it to favorites.
5) Start up PeZBOT server on the host.
6) Start up PeZBOT on the client, and go to your favorites.
7) Join the server you added to favorites earlier.
